Pasadena is quite, clean, organized city full of students. If you are not looking for typical Los Angeles city, that is Pasadena. It sits northeast of Los Angeles and it’s ideally situated close to the Angeles National Forest and a range of gorgeous mountains where you can hike or cycle. But if you miss a beach, it’s just 30 minutes driving away. Traffic here is not perfect, we’ll be honest with you, but the city is not walkable, so better get ready to spend some more time in your car.
Pasadena has a bunch of restaurants and nightclubs, so nightlife is excellent. High end shopping scene is located in Old Town. You will have a bunch of options for dining, because Pasadena has more restaurants per capita than New York City. If you are into an alternative diet lifestyle, you’ll be glad to find Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Sprouts and Granny’s Pantry. There are some farmers markets here as well. Vibrant culinary scene is here, that’s for sure.
